Yesterday a kernel upgrade for ubuntu came out. So i installed it with the update manager, today i noticed i have no sound. Which was working fine prior to the upgrade. I issued the following commands to get my sound card working again.

sudo apt-get install module-assistant

sudo m-a update

sudo m-a prepare

sudo m-a a-i alsa

Thats it reboot your machine and you should have a working sound card
